What to do If a dog is scared of a household object?!?

My dog, 2 years of age, is scared of a couple household objects. One of them would be the broom, when i move it or start brooming she starts running away and hiding under the chair, followed by barks and yelps. What can i do to get her more used to some of these ordinary household objects?!
