What should I wear with them?

Ok so...for my textile project, I decided to make these shorts with my friend. I went with a really pretty eggplant coloured fabric. The shorts are 1 1/2" below the waist. So it's not really a low-waisted or high-waisted garment. I don't really want to start over since the deadline for this garment is soon. So what should I wear with them? I have an idea already but I just wanted some more ideas and opinions from you guys. Thank You!
